Dyker Heights Child Finds Healing Days After Blessing From Pope
L to R: Pope Francis, Julia Bruzzese.

One girl from Dyker Heights, Brooklyn is singing praises to the Pope for blessing her during his trip to New York City.

Julia Bruzzese, a wheelchair bound, 12-year-old seventh grader, who attends St. Bernadette School in Dyker Heights, believes she has received a miracle. Bruzzese began suffering from a condition in May that eventually paralyzed the lower half of her body — leaving her unable to walk by June.

Though after months of testing and doctors not being able to find what was causing Bruzzese’s condition, Bruzzese made it a priority to see the Pope and pray for the best.

Bruzzese went to Kennedy Airport [where the Pope landed in New York] because she believed ‘in a miracle,’ CBS New York reported.

Moments after kissing the Pope’s ring and receiving a special blessing from him, Bruzzese was in tears saying “It means that he’s going to give me a miracle, to walk again. I know I will walk again because of him.”

Just two days shy of a full week, Bruzzese has received amazing news from her doctors.

“The miracle has begun. I went to the doctor and for the first time they saw Lyme disease activity in my blood and that just shows a miracle can happen if you believe, just like I did,” Bruzzese told Daily Mail. “If you believe and pray everything can happen.”

We are all hoping and praying that Bruzzese’s miracle comes through, though she has enough faith for the greatest things to happen so we are already speaking healing over her.

Get well soon Julia!
