Since the release of the hip-hop biopic, Straight Outta Compton, the movie has inspired monumental things including the “Straight Outta” campaign. The campaign allows fans the opportunity to post where they’re from and share their hometown pride to social media. It allowed people to appreciate the place that they’ve called home, and all in all, was a pretty dope movement.
Due to the success of the digital campaign, Hot 97’s DJ Kay Slay decided to release a “Straight Outta Brooklyn” collaboration featuring artists such as Maino, Moe Chipps, Uncle Murda, Troy Ave., Papoose, Lucky Don, and Fame. The collaboration will be featured on Kay Slay’s upcoming mixtape, titled “Shadow of the Sun” which will drop next month.
