A few weeks ago, OurBKSocial spoke exclusively with Brooklyn Nets General Manager, Billy King about what he wanted to do in regards to the trade deadline. He stated that he didn’t expect to make any moves. Fast-forward to today and Billy King kept his promise with one unexpected exception that would change the entire make up of the Nets, the departure of Kevin Garnett and the arrival of Thaddeus Young. Thaddeus Young has been coming off the bench scoring almost at will from inside and outside the painted area. He’s a guy that can stretch out the defense and allows the team to have much more options on offense.

Yet, the Nets weren’t done yet. They would make another surprise change that involved someone that had in their back pocket the entire time. Enter the newest starter for the Brooklyn Nets, rookie Markel Brown. From the NBA 2014 draft to the NBA 2015 All-Starweekend, Brown has seen very limited action on the floor. He’s been a bench warmer, sent to the D-league, came back, played limited minutes, and became a bench warmer again. During the All-Star break, Nets Head Coach Lionel Hollins told the media that he was very impressed with Brown’s production in practice and would reward him by making him a starter. Deron Williams, who had been coming off the bench, had a similar impression on Hollins and he too was rewarded by becoming a starter once again. Hollins had to go the small ball rout knowing how effective his system could be.

Sometimes buy levitra you succeed and sometimes you fail, but your personal integrity is what matters most.

After All-Star break the team would try a new starting line up consisting of Deron Williams, Markel Brown, Alan Anderson, Joe Johnson, and Mason Plumlee. This starting five produced a team that’s young, fast, energetic, exciting, and unpredictable. The New Brooklyn Nets would be tested however, against high ranking Western conference competition. The Nets have won four of their last six games beating the Lakers, Nuggets, Mavericks, and the NBA’s best team, the Golden State Warriors. In the games that they have lost, they were tied in the final moments of the Houston Rockets game and let one slip away in New Orleans against the Pelicans.

It seems as if every player on the team has improved with this small ball system in place. Deron Williams is in post All-Star break mode averaging double-doubles each game. Brook Lopez has found his offensive stroke on a consistent basis. Bojan Bogdanovic is more confident and it shows in his shooting from behind the arc. Thaddeus Young can really do damage off the ball, shoot the 3 and really hurt opponents in the paint. Markel Brown has produced moves we’ve never seem from him, blocking shots, knocking down 3’s, producing acrobatic dunks, and incredible defense. Mason Plumlee is now getting steals, increasing his free-throw percentage, and still averaging double -doubles. Jarrett Jack has become an instant threat off the bench and is now the go-to guy for big shots late in games. Joe Johnson has gotten back to double digit scores every night despite the problems with his knees. Just ask the fans. They will tell you that they are very excited for the New Brooklyn Nets. Opponents are taking notice as well as the critics. These Brooklyn Nets are now being featured on ESPN highlights, no longer absent from the NBA’s Instagram account or sports radio, critics are now saying that they will make the playoffs, Barclays Center is now selling out, the fan base is pumped up, and the Brooklyn Nets are starting to look like an elite team in the NBA.
