Would the Nets be able to write their wrong from last night? Let’s get to it.

Brook Lopez and the Nets looked crisp early on in the 1st quarter. The ball was flowing and  Mason Plumlee and Brook Lopez may have finally found a way to play together using the pick and roll and pick and stick offense. Brook Lopez was on fire hitting 7-9 field goals. The Nets frustrated the Dallas so much that Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle even got a technical foul. The quarter ended with Brooklyn leading 35-21.

2nd quarter action started with the Mavericks coming on with 8-0 burst to bring Dallas within 6, 35-29. Thankfully The Joe Johnson Show was able to stop the bleeding with 6 consecutive jumpers to put his squad up by 10. Midway into the second the Mavericks were back on and managed to bring the lead with 4, 45-41. The Nets were able to put a 6 point cushion between the Mavericks, 49-43. Lopez ended the half with a double-double in 18-10.

3rd quarter action started hot offensively and defensively for Dallas who managed to tie the game at 51. Another Dallas technical foul was called against Dallas to break the tie and give Brooklyn the lead. Dallas and Brooklyn would trade the lead and the tie numerous times during the quarter and would actually end the tug-of-war quarter in a draw. Both teams tied at 65.

4th quarter started off with some bad luck for the Nets. With what looked like to be another Brooklyn injury, Sergey Karasev limped off the court seconds after Dallas knocked down the 3 to open the quarter. Dallas would go on a 13-0 run to bring the score to 75-65. The Nets would turn things around cutting the Mavericks lead to 7, 78-71. Brooklyn would go on a 13-2 run of their own thanks to 2-3 pointers by Joe Jesus and tie the game at 80! Monta Ellis would once again tie the game via free throws at 82. Joe Johnson goes for the game winner but misses and we go to overtime!

In the extra quarter Dallas gets on the board first and takes the lead. Brooklyn would try and snatch the lead away but were down by 4, 90-86 with 2:20 remaining Chandler Parsons would hit his first 3 pointer of the night to extend the Dallas lead to 5, 93-88. Dirk Nowitski hits a dagger 3 pointer of his own to ice the game. Mavericks win, 96-88.
