Seriously, is there anything Williamsburg doesn’t have.

Mega supermarket chain, Whole Foods Market which specializes in foods without artificial preservatives, is opening its second Brooklyn store in Williamsburg next month. After years of delays, the organic shop will open on July 26 at 238 Bedford Avenue.

Whole Foods Williamsburg has been in the works since 2012 and was originally supposed to open in 2014. A worker who was seriously injured after being hit with a hose during construction in 2014 later caused the construction company to lose its license. But now that the grocer has an official opening date, locals are excited yet worried about the quick spread of Williamsburg gentrification.

“You can’t yell ‘gentrification’ it happened 10 years ago. It’ll be a nice option,” a local told Brooklyn Paper.

Competitor, Trader Joes is also due a Williamsburg location very soon.
