One Detroit restaurant is causing a bit of buzz throughout New York City, thanks to their controversial ads. A number of billboards have been spotted promoting the opening a new Thai restaurant located in the motor city. The ads spotted in parts of Manhattan and two noticeably in Bushwick, display “Detroit, just west of Bushwick” and “Detroit Now Hiring, Katoi”.

Brooklynites Being Persuaded To Move To Detroit For Thai Food?

The obnoxiously large ads were particularly placed in New York City not only to promote the new restaurant but to influence residents  to move to Detroit as an alternative to New Yorkers who feel like the city has gotten too expensive. “The idea really is to spread the word about Detroit as far as we can. We love the idea of Detroit being appealing to talented people from New York or anywhere,” Detroit native, Courtney Henriette told The Detroit News.

Back in 2014, Brooklyn’s famed Galapagos Art Space, once located in DUMBO, relocated to Detroit due to their rising rents.
