About three years ago, while waiting in line for the latest Kobe Bryant sneakers, Jones was attacked and stab numerous times. While Jones’ life was spared, he still undergoes surgeries related to the horrific incident.
This past weekend to pay homage to the basketball players he looked up to and to the neighborhood he calls home, Chad Jones held an All-Star shoe collection showcase. The showcase took place at 138 South Oxford Street, just around the corner from the Barclay’s Center. Sneaker and basketball fans had a chance to experience Jones’ sneaker collections that he’s grown since childhood. Many of the sneakers shown on display are classics that aren’t currently in stock in stores and extremely hard to find.
