Oh the things you hear about in Brooklyn. While this is a fairly amazing borough, some disturbing things happen here sometimes. A Bensonhurst native, Victor Alexandria, has kept a 3 foot alligator living in a pool in his shared backyard. Alexandria is known for keeping exotic animals at his Brooklyn home. At the time that the alligator was confiscated he also had a parrot, two cockatoos and a maltese.
This is not the first time he has come in contact with the law. He was caught on two different occasions on the Coney Island boardwalk. The first time he was charged with 24 counts of aggravated animal torture after cops found a menagerie stuffed inside his backpack — a parrot, a long albino python and several lizards. The second time, back in July 2012 , for the exact same thing. This man obviously think these animals are his family.
Neighbors were stunned that Alexandria was able to keep an alligator hidden for so long. They always knew Alexandria loved exotic animals but an alligator was different to them. When questioned by reporters, they all had pretty much the same look, nervous.
