Brooklyn Artist Debuts Kim Kardashian As Jesus?

You have to love the people of Brooklyn, but sometimes Brooklynites take things a little to the extreme. One Brooklyn artist by the name of Hannah Kunkle, debuted an art exhibit entitled, “The Passion Of Kim Kardashian”. Sigh! The one night only exhibit (Thank God) was held at Palisades 906 in Bushwhick last weekend.
The exhibit was made up of photoshopped images of Kim Kardashian depicted as Jesus, the Virgin Mary, a satanic priestess and Joan of Arc amongst others. In one particular photo Kardashian is portrayed as a Hindu goddess. In the photo she is wearing a chain with her new husband, Kanye West’s head.
The disturbing exhibit also featured organ music, incense burning and a display of burning candles with images around.
You can guess local churches and many religious leaders were highly upset about this “display of art”. Many pastors called the exhibit “distasteful” and “confusing”.
Kunkle spoke of her reasoning behind her work to VICE,
Kim Kardashian is God. She’s crazy bodacious and has the nose job of an angel. I don’t know if she’s omniscient, but no one can deny she’s not omnipresent. I think she is almost a patron saint of pop culture. She’s everywhere.”
