Join the Feminist Bird Club and Earth Arts for a spring bird walk at the Cemetery of the Evergreens. The cemetery is the final resting place of over 500,000 people and several thousand flowering trees and shrubs that attract year-round residents and seasonal migrants. Bring binoculars.
Historic Street Co-Naming

The Executive Board of the 500 Block MacDonough Street Association, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn invite you to the co-naming ceremony of MacDonough Street between Ralph Avenue and Patchen Avenue, as “Jackie Robinson Way”. They will pay homage to Jackie Robinson who resided on our block at 526 MacDonough Street from 1947 to 1952 – during his rookie year through the mid-point of his career as a Brooklyn Dodger. The Opening Ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM with a Parade from Patchen Avenue to Ralph Avenue led by the Black Cowboys and a Drumline. The seated ceremony will take place on the stage erected at Ralph Avenue prior to the unveiling of the sign at 12:00 PM. Our baseball themed festival will begin immediately following the unveling featuring a batting cage, free hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream and giveaways from Major League Baseball, National Grid and others.

This daylong program honors the pioneering Latin American and Latina artists in the exhibition, and their canon-expanding contributions to contemporary art during a period of extraordinary conceptual and aesthetic experimentation.
