Barclay’s Center Goes Green – Green Roof That Is!

Did you ever hear loud bass coming out of Barclays Center Arena during concert nights? Yeah, me either. But it looks like it has been an issue. Last year, Swedish House Mafia’s performance bothered the neighbors so much that the Barclays Center had to pay a fine of $3,200. Go freaking figure! The arena will install a beautiful vegetative green roof to beautify the Barclays Center and it will also suppress the bass boom bursting out during loud events. The emerald greenery will be built above the arena’s existing roof and will offer forest-like views for residents of the buildings expected to eventually tower over the arena. Oh yea, more condos!
The construction will take about nine months to complete, but there is no word as of yet on when the project will start or if the arena will have to physically close down until the roof is complete. There are scheduled events all throughout the year, so if they would have to shut down, the project would not take place anytime soon.
