Brooklyn, the sports capital of the world? Maybe.

The borough is in plans of adding miniature golf to the list of what consist of baseball, basketball and soon enough, hockey. The Fulton Mall Improvement Association is looking to build and operate a  miniature golf course at the renovated Albee Square Plaza in Downtown Brooklyn, the NY Post reports.

The course that could be anywhere from 9 to 18 holes will be free to play by anyone who brings along their own equipment. Not particularly a golfing fan; the course will have club and balls to rent for a small fee.

“We were looking for creative and innovative new plaza uses to offer visitors, neighborhood residents and merchants, and decided there could be some real interest in bringing miniature golf to the area,” Tucker Reed, president of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, told the Post.

The miniature golf course is expected to open as early as this summer on a trial run, but officials are hoping for golf to become a permanent part of the borough.
