What if every neighborhood in Brooklyn had a flag to portray it’s uniqueness and charm? As part of an art contest that online retailer, UnCommonGoods, launched back in June, a few artist submitted what their version of a Brooklyn neighborhood flag would look like.

One of my personal favorites comes from artist, Albert Dobmeier. Dobmeier created a glad for his Bushwick neighborhood and explained to UnCommonGoods his vision.

Albert says: My design links three aspects of Bushwick. The old, abandoned and crime-ridden Bushwick, which was known to native New Yorkers as “The Well”, where drug dealers threw shoes over TELEPHONE WIRES to mark a drug trading spot.

The current Bushwick, which was transformed by brave people like Maria Hernandez into a hub for Hispanic families, who are very familiar with the DOVE as a Christian symbol of peace.

The dawning, new Bushwick, declared ripe for gentrification by the real estate market, where warehouses are being turned into loft style residences for the young and hip. No Feedback On The Site – this is levitra uk characteristic, as blood moves into the genital territories.

By putting a Mourning Dove (as seen daily on my fire escape) onto a telephone wire spanning along loft style windows, I was hoping to create a flag that would inspire unity among the people of Bushwick. Maybe this will help to counteract the adverse effects of gentrification.
