How did the Carter family spend Father’s Day? In Brooklyn of course. The Carters took in the Kara Walker exhibit at the famous Domino Sugar Factory, in Dumbo, on Sunday. Walker is the amazing artist and creator of the three-story female sphinx called, “Subtlety (or the Marvelous Sugar Baby)”. The gorgeous piece of artwork measures a whopping 75-feet long, 35-feet high and 26-feet wide. It’s pretty much the size of a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day ballon. The sphinx took about seven months to construct and is made up of polystyrene, a synthetic resin and 160,00 pounds of refined sugar!

Beyonce and husband, Jay Z, are said to be “big fans” of Kara Walker who is widely known for her silhouette figures and expression of race, gender and power.

Solange was also photographed taking in the exhibit earlier last month.

The exhibit is open until July 6th on Fridays from 4-8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12-6pm.
