This one’s for Brooklyn!

Spike Lee’s classic 1994 tale of life in old Brooklyn, “Crooklyn,” has officially won the first ever One Film, One New York contest, in which the entire city is invited to watch the same movie on the same night.

After a spirited runoff between five classic New York based films, selected by A. O. Scott and Manohla Dargis, the chief film critics of The New York Times, thousands of New Yorkers have chosen “Crooklyn” as the one film they want to watch together on September 13th. “Desperately Seeking Susan,” “New York, New York,” “On the Town” and “The Wedding Banquet,” were the other four films included in the running.

The film will be screened in all five boroughs, with movie times varying.
