Brook Lopez has definitely drawn the short straw out of the Nets team but it looks like there is another player who is also on his way out. His name unfortunately is Jarett Jack. It seems the Brook Lopez to Miami deal is off the table but it didn’t stop the Nets organization from looking elsewhere to find a deal however, two teams are needed this time to sweeten the deal. Yes, there is a proposed 3-team deal between the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
NBA sources are reporting that the deal is set to go down at any moment but should take no longer than the weekend to finish. Here’s how the deal would look. OKC would get Brook Lopez from the Nets, Hornets would get Jeremy Lamb from OKC and Jarrett Jack from the Nets, and The Nets would get Kendrick Perkins from OKC and Brooklyn’s own Lance Stephenson from the Hornets. This trade works well for everyone because OKC can have another offensive weapon as a center who can stretch the defense or open the lane up for a Russell Westbrook or a Kevin Durant. The Hornets would add veteran leadership in Jack and provide another scorer at point guard with Jeremy Lamb. Brooklyn would finally get some offensive attitude and grit with Kendrick Perkins and Brooklyn’s own Lance Stephenson. Brooklyn would also save around $24 million in luxury taxes for the year and forgo Lopez’s $16.7 million contract he would have next season.

From what’s being told, OKC is ready, the Hornets are ready, Brooklyn isn’t ready and they aren’t ready because they’re conflicted about Stephenson’s behavior off the court. They really want to know what it is that just gets everyone uncomfortable when the cameras aren’t rolling. They also want to make sure that Lance doesn’t get worse coming back home. They want him focused, grown up, and ready to play for his home town. We need him to be ready and if he is; Welcome back home Lance Stephenson.
