White Flags Replace The American Flag On-Top Of Brooklyn Bridge?

Scandal? The NYPD are investigating how the usual American flags on top of the Brooklyn Bridge mysteriously disappeared and were replaced by white flags. About 7a.m. this morning social media went crazy with spectators asking how and when did our flags change. White flags are a usual military symbol of surrender and to my knowledge, Brooklyn hasn’t surrendered to anyone.

Police are looking into surveillance footage to see if they can get leads to who could have done such a thing.

How did someone get up there to change flags without being noticed is beyond me. People walk the Brooklyn Bridge 24 hours of the day. Something is extremely fishy about this situation.

11:10pm – Police have removed the “linen-like” flag from the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

The public safety of our city is of paramount importance, particularly our landmarks and bridges that are already known to be high-risk targets. We will not surrender our public safety to anyone, at any time. Political and social expression, whatever its message may be, has a place in our society, but not at the expense of others’ security. I am confident in the NYPD’s ability to investigate this matter.”
