Brooklyn continues to open new eateries and shops for the large amounts of people that have decided to make Brooklyn their new home. This week in our “New In Brooklyn” are a couple of chains and a coffee shop that are sure to bring their communities a little joy.

Now that word is spreading of how great Brooklyn is, tourist now want to vacation here instead of the much overrated Manhattan. New hotels are popping up all over the place and one being the latest Holiday Inn in downtown Brooklyn. The 15 floor, 246 room hotel has begun construction on 300 Schermerhorn Street and is slated to open mid-2015. The full service Holiday Inn will consist of first-class amenities including a swimming pool, high-end dining, event spaces and a duplex presidential suite. Even if you live in Brooklyn, this sounds like a sweet place to get away.

Heading over to Bedford Stuyvesant, the fast food giant, Burger King has begun construction on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street. The block already consist of quick food stops like Golden Krust, KFC and Checkers. But the way Brooklyn is changing, I’m sure there will be a salad bar over there soon. You want to give the neighborhood some sort of options.

There will also be a great selection of teas for all the non-coffee lovers. Brewklyn is located on 557 Myrtle Avenue and will bring a new flare to the neighborhood with channeling the 1940s.
