Jason Terry at the age of 36, was only averaging a career-low 4.5 points and 1.6 assists in 16.3 minutes in  his 35 games this season. The Nets decided to trade him along with forward Reggie Evans to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for guard Marcus Thornton.

Obviously Marcus Thornton brings some youth back to the Nets being that he is 26 and they traded two of their older players at 33 (Reggie) and 36 (Jason). Thornton is  currently averaging 8.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 24.4 minutes in the 46 games that he has played this season. This is now his fifth year in the league.
