Once Oscar Nominee, Lupita Nyong’o, mentioned Madiba resturant in Fort Greene, Brooklyn (where she lives) was one of her favorite places to dine I had to try it out! Madiba, which late Nelson Mandela was called meaning “Father of the South African Nation” (according to USA Today), is a resturant that gives you the full feel of being in South Africa! Madiba is located on 195 Dekalb Avenue and has been there since 1999.
The owners Mark & Jenny Henegan state
“Our concept is steeped in the tradition of a Shebeen, the informal dining halls in South African townships. These gathering places are where South Africans leave the work day behind to embrace joy, laughter, community, and a little beer and boot. The Shebeen offers sanctuary to the weary and well-traveled; a visit to one is the ultimate experience of everyday life one can have whole touring South Africa”
As soon as you step foot in this beautiful detailed Resturant it’s like you have stepped into an African village. From the music, to the delightful food, down to every detail of artwork! The chandelier was my personal favorite piece of artwork!
Here are some photos I took on my visit!
Some Beta Blockers are acebutolol (Sectral), atenolol (Tenormin), carvedilol (Coreg), levitra without prescription discover to find out more metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard) and penbutolol (Levatol).
The waitresses are so pleasant and attentive making the experience all the more better!
Upon leaving I was greeted with a pleasant “Thank You” from owner Mark Henegan! He didn’t know at the time who I was or that I was there for work, he was just happy you dined at his amazing resturant.
I would recommend this experience to everyone who lives and/or visits Brooklyn! I say experience because that is what it is!
