Celebrities are leaving Manhattan high-rises and flocking to Brooklyn brownstones. Actor Jennifer Connelly and husband Paul Bettany are the latest stars to sell their penthouse in Tribeca and purchase property in Brooklyn Heights.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the couple sold their Manhattan digs for a cool $9 million before buying their new 8,000-square-foot townhouse in Brooklyn Heights. The home, steps away from the Brooklyn Promenade and boast spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, sold for a whopping $15.5 million. The sale marks what’s said to be one the most expensive deals in the borough, matching the highest priced townhouse sale in Brooklyn, held by 177 Pacific Street in Cobble Hill.

Connelly and Bettany purchased the home from  Goldman Sachs exec, Timothy Ingrassia and his wife Stephanie, president of the board at the Brooklyn Museum. This is not the first time the duo has lived in Brooklyn. From 2003 to 2008, they owned a stunning mansion at 17 Prospect Park West in Park Slope.

Matt Damon could break the ultimate record though. The actor who is in contract to buy a $16.645 million condo at The Standish in Brooklyn Heights, could set the new record for the borough’s priciest sale — if the deal goes through.
