If getting stuck in a train car isn’t bad enough, imagine getting stuck inside an elevator inside a hot subway station. Every rider’s worst nightmare.
More than a dozen straphangers were trapped inside a stuck elevator at the Clark Street subway station in Brooklyn Heights on Monday morning.

“It was very hot, very sweaty, very freaky,” Kovacs told the NY Times.

The MTA was alerted and the Fire Department came within minutes but because of the elevator’s position, it took nearly an hour to get riders out.
Commuters are oftened forced to use one of the three elevators available as the Clark Street station has a limited exits.
The elevators have been in service for 87 years and was previously scheduled for repairs.
“We sincerely apologize to those customers who were impacted and thank FDNY for their assistance,” the MTA shared in a statement.
No one was hurt in Monday’s incident but riders are being more cautious about getting off at Clark Street.
