With the movie ticket prices sky rocketing seemingly every year; who doesn’t enjoy a discount? That’s were Dealflicks comes in. The Los Angeles based tech company, Dealflicks is like the Groupon for movies tickets. How do they work? Movie goers would access the Dealflicks website, choose the movie theatre and movie they want to go to and purchase their discounted ticket. Dealflicks has been able to enlist around 400 movie theatre across the country to join their program.

The good news, Dealficks recently brought five Brooklyn movie theaters on board. Co-Founder Kevin Hong spoke to the NY Daily News on why he wanted to capture Brooklyn theaters.

What we like about the Brooklyn market is we have a good number of small, independent theaters. It captures  more diverse market.

Theatre like Brooklyn Heights Cinema on Henry Street are one of the theaters that are part of Dealflicks. The theatre choose the fine print of the deal. They usually bundle the ticket deal with popcorn and/or soda. Seems good to me.

This helps movie theaters as well as movie goers. Usually after opening weekend of a movie, movie-goers decline 88-95%. These deals will persuade people to continue to go to the movies. Discounts always work.
