Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks,” exhibition will focus on the notebooks created between 1980 and 1987, that have never before been shown publicly.  The notebooks contain early renderings of iconic imagery including word play, poetry fragments, teepees, crowns, skeleton-like figures, and grimacing faces that Basquiat is largely famous for. The 160 pages have been unbound and will be featured along with paintings, drawings, and mixed media works from private collections and the artist’s estate.

The exhibit is scheduled to last until August 2015.
