Plans for a new Adidas location in Brooklyn are officially underway.

The sportswear brand has hired three all-star Nike creative shoe designers as part of their plan to open a “Brooklyn Creative Studio”, the company announced on Wednesday.

The studio, expected to hit Brooklyn streets in early 2015, “will drive design direction for the brand and elevate the company’s direct interaction with consumers,” says a statement issued by Adidas America.”

The new Adidas designers include:

Denis Dekovic, a 20-year experienced footwear designer with experience across soccer, women’s footwear, snowboarding, basketball and tennis.

Marc Dolce, a 20-year experienced vet in the footwear-design industry with experience across basketball, training, running, women’s footwear and lifestyle.

Mark Miner,  a frequent subject in sneaker blogs, is a footwear designer with experience in running, women’s footwear and basketball. Among other projects, he is credited with key design contributions to the popular Nike Free Run+, making that shoe more flexible.

“These guys were rising stars at Nike, and I think the Brooklyn move is a good one — they’ll find people who don’t want to go to Portland but will be happy to be in Brooklyn”, stated Matt Powell, an analyst with SportsOneSource.

“The Brooklyn Creative Studio will be a small but essential operation aimed at exploring design direction for the brand. This facility will be an open source creative center allowing us to connect and collaborate with consumers in a way we’ve never done before,” said Paul Gaudio, Adidas global creative director.
