The Blonds SS16 graphic nails.
The Blonds SS16 Egyptian inspired nail designs.

From The Blonds Egyptian-inspired disco with nails decked out befitting a Pharaoh’s tomb to Opening Ceremony’s Frank Lloyd Wright inspired graphic nails, the Spring Summer ‘16 runway shows upped their nail game.

Matching the inspirations of the season, nail art was a focal point of interest to many editors, bloggers and viewers in New York and Paris. Naomi Yasuda, formerly of Hello Beautiful salon in Williamsburg did the nails at Opening Ceremony and was inspired by the collections “mid century modern vibe.” Yasuda chose a central graphic print in the collection as the core of her nail display. Likewise, CND technicians (Creative Nail Design, Inc) created artistic collage graphics at Libertine inspired by the colorful prints of German artist, Blinky Palermo.

Spring/Summer ‘16 Runways Were All Hail To The Nails
Monique Lhuillier SS16 French manicure/ Rebecca Minkoff SS16 ombré

We saw softer, more organic effects like the ombré nails, beautifully executed by Essie’s Michelle Saunders at Rebecca Minkoff. Saunders used a sponge that created a color blur. She started with 4 colors in stripes, Essie’s: Tart Deco, Marshmallow, Beach Bum Blu and Midnight Cami ($9 each) then blended them with a top coat of Spaghetti Strap ($9). Interested in how she blends colors? Have a look at this YouTube video of Saunders doing tie-dye nails! Unfortunately for us this nail talent is based in L.A.

Many men must have used them till today, and many would unica-web.com levitra without prescription be trying to buy it without having a good reason.

Another standout for us was the clean simplicity at Monique Lhuillier where electric liquid eyeliner was mirrored on French manicures in perfect modern ovals.

Our next stop? Finding the best nail design salons across Brooklyn to get some of these looks re-created. Stay tuned for the line up…
