New year, new style, and honestly speaking, everyone should revamp their closets every year. Whether it’s adding a style for the perfect switch up moments, bringing forth color (because black is basically this city’s uniform) or simply finding the right accessories to make your outfits pop — a style resolution is in order.

Here are some suggestions to help push your style resolution:

  • Denim on denim on denim! As of recently denim styles have been catching my eye, especially ones that mesh denim washes. With the right color pop, footwear and accessories — the perfect denim outfit is complete.
  • Never doubt the power of simplistic jewelry. Gold, silver, rose gold and diamond (if you have all of the money) can make a huge statement. Elegance is key.
  • Fellas: If you don’t wear caps, baseball or fitted, you might want to add a smooth one in your wardrobe.
  • Ladies: It’s ok to have a tomboy moment. We have the right to be cute, comfortable and covered when we please.
  • Go out on a creative limb and print clash!
  • Chunky jewels bring some cute attention, too. For the folks that are thinking, “didn’t you just talk about simple jewels,” I have some words from Jay Z for you. “I know I contradicted myself. Look, I don’t need that now.

  • Now, I know some people think they’re too old for backpacks but come on. Aren’t creatives the children who survived?
  • Last but not least, shades! I say, “people throw shade everyday, B.” Might as well wear a disclaimer!

  • Ladies: Don’t be afraid to channel your inner fashionista and snag a pair of thigh high boots. The right pair can add the perfect about of spice to your wardrobe.
