Join PUNCH and veteran food writer Peter Meehan for the New York launch of By the Smoke & the Smell, a memoir and manifesto on artisan spirits by Thad Vogler, owner of San Francisco’s Bar Agricole and Trou Normand. This beautiful new memoir is a globe-trotting bender that will introduce you to a rich cast of characters who craft the world’s best mezcal, Scotch, bourbon, Cognac and rum. Welcome drinks will be served at 6:30 pm, followed by a conversation between Thad & Peter about the book and Thad’s mission to bring “grower spirits”–spirits with provenance, made in the traditional way by individuals rather than by mass conglomerates–to the public eye.
