The Botanical World of Harry Potter Tour

Many of the plants used in Harry Potter’s potions are alive and on display at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. See them on this interactive tour and learn their botanical backstories. Meet at Conservatory entrance.

The Making of King Kong

Enjoy a Gorilla-licious Boozy Brunch + Benefit, featuring a performance of THE MAKING OF KING KONG, with tiki drinks and mocktails, scrumptious food, and an old-fashioned Entertainment Extravaganza! There will be a special performance of KONG at 5pm, followed by a cocktail reception, buffet eats, and Depression-era ditties (among others) with acclaimed chanteuse Molly Pope. At higher levels, there are pre-show cocktails and light appetizers with the director and writer.

This conscious evening is created and lovingly prepared by Present Plate, a female-led community organization dedicated to empowering people with tools to make informed food choices. You can expect an olive oil tasting, wine pairing/tasting, food meditation and a talk from farmer Tyler of Alewife Farm.

Workshop & Discussion with Katy Pyle, Ballez
240 Division Avenue at Spaceworks Williamsburg Library

Katy Pyle will lead a discussion around how their company, Ballez (est 2011) is working to insert the herstory and lineage of lesbian, transgender, and gender non-conforming queer dancers into the ballet canon through the creation of large scale story-ballets, public classes, and conversations. Dancers of all experience are invited to attend. Bring socks or ballet slippers, and wear clothing that allows a full range of motion.
