So much for calling this borough Brooklyn. As Brooklyn’s Court Street gains yet another high end retail shop, I have yet to wonder if by the end of 2014, Brooklyn will have morphed into Manhattan. God I would hope not! Well gang, Rag & Bone is headed our way to 160 Court Street. What use to be a downtown Bar & Grill will be fully transformed into a fashion giant! The bar was there for nearly 8 years and closed down last month.

Boy, did Rag & Bone pick up that location quickly. Down the block, J. Crew is set to open its doors later this year as well.

According to the NY Daily News,

Rag & Bone co-founder Marcus Wainright recently acquired a $6.75 million townhouse near the future Cobble Hill store.

King said rents along Court St. have skyrocketed over the past five years, jumping from $35 to $200 per-square-foot.

Well, soon enough, Court Street will become 5th Ave. Let just hope we can still keep the spirit of Brooklyn!
