Yes, this version will have more lifeboats.
Australian billionaire, Clive Palmer has planned an exact replica of one of the world’s most famous ships in the world—Titanic—and eyes the original route of the 1912 sunken vessel in 2022. Palmer announced his plans to build Titanic II six years ago, but after running into financial troubles he ceased work on the project, according to The Guardian. The project has now been resurrected.
“The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York,” Palmer said in a statement. “But she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”
Palmer announced on Monday that Blue Star Line will mostly likely build a European headquarters in Paris. CBS reports the replica ship will cost $500 million to build and look just like the original, including the famous grand staircase. The ship will feature a first, second and third class levels, and 835 cabins that can accommodate 2,435 passengers.

“Millions have dreamt of sailing on her, seeing her in port and experiencing her unique majesty,” Palmer said of the ship. “Titanic II will be the ship where those dreams come true.”
The company has released a rendering of the ship (above) complete with actors in period pieces, dining rooms and a smoking room.
Don’t hold your breath if you dream of living like Jack and Rose from the 1997 blockbuster film, Titanic, as Titanic II ship builders have not been contracted yet and no official word on when the ship will begin construction has been released.
