Last night, the younger, J.Crew’s sister brand, Madewell opened its first Brooklyn location. The women’s clothing store known for cool tailored denim, button ups and occasional flannel hosted a private Grand Opening on 127 North 6th Street.

Williamsburg welcomed it’s first J.Crew location back in September so it was expected for Madewell to be the follow up.

The Grand Opening featured the simple essence of Brooklyn. Drinks included 2011 Cabernet Franc and 2013 Stainless Steel-Aged Chardonnay were provided by Brooklyn Winery and 2011 Rosé  provided by Lorenza. Desserts included apple pie and baked chocolate pie by Taatwork and choux, ecliar and merveilleux by Caprices By Sophie. Outside the store, parked a Calexico food truck serving up chicken and carne tacos with a side of chips and salsa.
