Before The Mets, Lets Remember The Brooklyn Dodgers 1955 Win

The Mets are making history as we speak. Tonight the New York baseball team who hasn’t won a world series since 1986 will compete against the Kansas City Royals in Kansas.

Before we continue the celebration, lets remember the Brooklyn Dodgers (we had them first – Los Angeles) winning big exactly 60 years ago. Back in 1955 the Dodgers, with star player Jackie Robinson (42), competed and won against the New York Yankees to bring home the first and only World Series victory to Brooklyn. This seven game series also marked the end of a long period for the unbeatable Yankees in World Series â€” the Yankees’ first loss in a World Series since 1942.

Just two years later, in what is still a controversial topic, the Dodgers were then moved to Los Angeles where they continue to play today.

If the Mets won this series, it would be one amazing anniversary for New York baseball. Good Luck Mets!
