The same producers of hit show “SuperNanny” on Lifetime are looking for those smart young people to cast for their new show “Child Genius” today, starting in Brooklyn. The new cable series is a contest but will also chronicle the challenges faced by these profoundly gifted children and their parents.

What exactly are they looking for? The producers are looking for young intelligent 8 to 12 year olds. A 6 year old who takes sixth grade math, and a 9 year old who’s learning his fourth language, are among those who will be heading to the Brooklyn Amity School to participate in the open call. The open call will feature a test of general knowledge and IQ. This is the first of eight regional challenges that will determine who’s selected for the five week taping this summer in Los Angeles.
