When you are born in Brooklyn, you are automatically assumed to be great. Mark Fields who is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Ford Motor Company could be named the CEO before the year is up, according to Business Insider. The 42 year old was previously named the head of the company’s Americas division. His achievements include substantial participation in The Way Forward, the Ford restructuring plan that was released in 2006.

Ford on the brinks of bankruptcy was brought back to life partly because of Mark Fields. Mark Fields caused a massive increase in value after years of shareholder losses. Current CEO, Alan Mulally is expected to retire as soon as May 1st.

Mark Fields, who was born in Brooklyn recently gave the opening keynote address at the New York International Auto Show. During his speech he promoted innovation and technology in the coming years but avoided Ford’s immediate corporate changes.
