Here are 6 places to donate a little of anything that you can just in time for the holidays.
Little Essentials
Little Essentials located in Gowanus at 24 15th street #204, makes giving back super easy with convenient drop-off locations and free pick-up service. Load up those bags because each bag you donate, has a tax deductible of $10. Little Essentials accepts clothing, baby items: cribs, mattresses, bassinets, diapers, bath tubs, toys and books. They DO NOT accept maternity clothes or adult clothing. Head to Gowanus for drop-offs on Tuesdays from 3:00pm-6:00pm and every first Saturday of the month from 10:00am- 12:00pm. Housing Works
The popular thrift shop known for their continuous fight to end AIDS and homelessness is the perfect place to donate. With a dozen locations across New York City area, Housing Works is also very convenient. All proceeds made at Housing Works, are used to help those in need. The thrift shop collects everything from men’s and women’s apparel to jewelry and accessories, art and antiques. Sean Casey Animal Rescue
Don’t forget the animals! Sean Casey Animal Rescue has two locations in Brooklyn, Windsor Terrance on 153 East 3rd street, and the other in Sunset Park on 551 39th Street. Sean Casey offers several donation options for those who are passionate about helping homeless animals. Donations can be made through Amazon’s wish list, PayPal and GoFundMe. Madison Rose is the perfect spot for those Mommies-To-Be and children up to 5 years old to get top of the line clothing for half the price because of your donations. Located in the heart of Cobble Hill at 313 Court St, Madison Rose is open Tues-Thurs from 11am-6pm, Fri 11am-7pm, Sat. 11am-6am, Sun 11am-5pm and closed on Mondays. Lulu’s Then and Now
For all those parents holding on to your children’s clothing that they have considerably grown out of yet still are in good condition, you can finally let them go at Lulu’s Then and Now in Park Slope. Located at 75A 5th Ave, Lulu’s will purchase children’s clothing and re-sell it at a reasonable price. Drop off must be made during store hours: Mon-Thurs 10am-6:30pm, Sat 10am-6pm, and Sun 11am-6pm. Flying Squirrel
Flying Squirrel sells a mix of new and donated items. The boutique accepts clothing in their best condition and might even pay you a couple of dollars for them.
