Georgian-born, Brooklyn-raised designer, Irina Shabayeva, will premiere her latest bridal collection next Saturday, April 25. Widely recognized for her win on Project Runway season 6 in November of 2009, Shabayeva will be showing under her own collection at an anti-human trafficking event for New York Bridal Fashion Week.
The event is being co-produced with The Set, NYC and Freedom Ladder, a not-for-profit organization. “My latest bridal collection celebrates femininity and beauty, and Freedom Ladder is working to protect and empower women,” said Ms. Shabayeva. “I think it’s wonderful that this event brings us together, and I’m honored to work with Freedom Ladder to help put and end to human trafficking.” Proceeds from the event will support Freedom Ladder in its mission to end human trafficking.

Ms. Shabayeva, who has created pieces for Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Selena Gomez and others, will be collaborating with Avianne & Co. Jewelers which has worked on some of the most iconic bridal pieces such as Ciara’s engagement ring from Future and just recently, Bow Wow’s stunning ring to Erica Mena. Her collection will be adorned with pieces crafted by the master jewelers at Avianne & Co.

The event will take place at the Holy Apostles Ballroom in Chelsea, Manhattan.
