On Day 17 of Black History Month we recognize Roblé Ali.
Roblé Ali was born in Poughkeepsie, New York but calls Brooklyn his home. Ali, nationally known as Chef Roblé, doesn’t just cook – he creates masterpieces. The creative genius is in his DNA. Roblé’s grandfather, Jesse Harris, was a professional chef. Harris owned a restaurant and once catered an event for the late great John F. Kennedy.
Like his grandfather before him, Roblé decided to become a chef. He attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and worked at perfecting his craft in exclusive restaurants in NYC. He has prepared culinary delights and one-of-a-kind dining experiences for President Obama, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Legend, Jack Nicholson, Michael Jackson, Vanessa Williams and the list continues to grow.
After working for some of the best in the business, including Abigail Kirsch, Stanton Social, Beauty & Essex, and Avenue, Roblé decided to launch his own catering business, Roblé & Co. His restaurant, “Streets” in Williamsburg, prepares amazing global street food. Also, Roblé is a regular contributor on ABC’s “The Chew.” To top it off, each year on Thanksgiving, he feeds over 5,000 people in need throughout the New York City region.
