Brooklyn Artist To Present ‘The Vagina Monologues’ In Bed-Stuy

In honor of Valentine’s Day, a group of local Brooklynites will present a benefit performance of Eve Ensler’s award winning play at The Pow Wow on 1038 Bedford Avenue. The Vagina Monologues, originally an Off-Broadway play, features some of the most candid, funny, painful, yearning insights of women talking about their no-longer-so-private part. The play has been performed all over the world — from Zagreb to Santa Barbara, London to Seattle and all the way to Jerusalem.

The play will be performed on three different nights, February 24th, 26th, and 27th, all beginning at 7 PM. Tickets range from $10-30 and may be purchased here. All funds will benefit The Art Therapy Nest, a local Bedstuy organization that provides a compassionate space for healing and creativity, offering individual and group psychotherapy. According to Broadway World, with funds raised, founder Jennifer Lepke will establish a program that specifically supports domestic and sexual violence survivors in their journey to living healthy and empowered lives.
