If you’re a Nets fan or someone that closely follows NBA trade rumors, then you’ve heard of the trade rumors surrounding Brooklyn’s foundation in Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez. While all three of these players are important and individually talented, there have to be players that are deemed untouchable as trade pieces. These untouchable pieces have to be centered on the future of the Brooklyn Nets.  Brooklyn already has their “Big 3” and if you can look at the Nets future, they already have their Next 3 in Mason Plumlee, Mirza Teletovic, and Bojan Bogdanovic.

Hello Brooklyn: Don’t Trade Away Your Future

Last season, Mason Plumlee, was supposed to be sent to the D-league but ended up being an integral part of the team. He was only supposed to be practice for Team USA but ended up making the team and actually winning a gold medal for his team and country. This season he has gone from being benched, to playing more minutes, to being in the starting lineup, to now becoming the team’s leading scorer and an almost automatic double-double machine.

With everything Mason Plumlee has done to this point, it’s hard to believe that this man is only in the 2nd year of his career. If anyone should be off the trading table it has to be Mason. Mason is answering the highest call for his team and for the borough of Brooklyn. His progress improves every single game regardless of who is in or out of the lineup. Plumlee has even developed a signature 2-handed reverse dunk that the announcers have dubbed the “Eelmulp” which is Plumlee in reverse. The man is full of heart, always learning, always improving, and not scared of any challenge no matter the name; just ask Lebron James. As the years go on for the Nets, Plumlee will grow amongst the trees in Brooklyn.

Hello Brooklyn: Don’t Trade Away Your Future

Bojan Bogdanovic is in his first year in the NBA. He’s gone from starting to providing his team 10-20 points off the bench, becoming an invaluable role player for Brooklyn. Bojan has to work out his rookie kinks, but aside from that, he’s been a terrific draft choice and has so much potential to be something really special in Brooklyn. His scoring ability inside and outside the arc will only get better with time. He’s taken over the game at different times to get his team out a hole or build a lead. Remember last year Mirza Teletovic struggled a lot but eventually found his footing late last season.

Bogdanovic is someone who has the skills but lacks the NBA style training. Once Bogdanovic becomes comfortable with the NBA style of play, he will stand tall amongst his peers, return to the starting lineup, and become a go-to-guy for Brooklyn.

Hello Brooklyn: Don’t Trade Away Your Future

Mirza Teletovic is his name but he’s been called “Fearza” or “MT3” whenever the ball reaches the bottom of the net, usually from 3-point territory. At only 29 years of age, Teletovic is a 6’9 quick release snipper. Last season Mirza struggled a bit to get to into the rotation but found his footing as the season went on and caught the eyes of many in and around the NBA. This year in Brooklyn, he’s been given opportunities to start and come off the bench making the best of both options. Teletovic already has lead his team in scoring this season, shoots and makes 3-pointers virtually from anywhere in the half court, and has developed a post-game strategy.

Mirza takes full opportunities of the minutes he’s been given and his usually a tide changer when games get tight. This is a contract season for Teletovic and there is no team in the NBA that wouldn’t want to have him aboard. But he’s only in Brooklyn and the Nets organization can’t afford to lose his services when his future in Brooklyn can be something to marvel.

If the Brooklyn Nets want to remain a relevant, championship contending team, then they must not let Plumlee, Teletovic, or Bogdanovic leave; their future depends on it.
