Why dodgeball, you ask? Deron says, “it’s a competitive sport, no one else is doing it, and it brings one back to childhood.” You see fundraising can be fun!
About 7PM the dodge tournament began. The round-robin style dodgeball tournament took up seven courts. The night brought back old high-school memories for everyone, of-course if your school was cool enough to have you play dodge-ball.  Balls were flying everywhere. Players were running, laughing, and shouting with one main objective in mind – avoid being hit by the opponent. Many of the players were rounded up by their corporate sponsors. Many hadn’t played dodge ball in years, but that didn’t matter. What mattered most, was the reason why they were playing – the children.
Deron said his goal for the night was to raise lots of money for the children. His Point of Hope Foundation proudly supports programs that help children and families in need. League, Education, and Treatment Center, also benefitting from the evening’s proceeds, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with psychiatric and developmental disabilities. It was a great evening and an even better cause. If you missed Monday’s exciting games and want to donate to the Point of Hope Foundation simply go to PointofHopeFoundation.org NOW.
