Essence Magazine Brings Style Block Party To Dumbo!

New York Fashion Week is in full effect and although all the couture fashion shows are mainly being held in Manhattan this year, Essence Magazine made sure that Brooklyn was also a part of the festivities.

Essence Magazine presented their first ever ‘Street Style Block Party’ under the archway in DUMBO to celebrate real women who have exceptional style. Mayor Bill De Blasio’s wife and First Lady of New York, Chirlane McCray kicked off the party and welcomed the hundreds of fashionistas who came out to support the wonderful event.

The amazingly talented R&B singer, Jazmine Sullivan also performed.

Three artist and designers, Ron Bass, Kimberly Goldson and Melody Ehsani were spotlighted at the event to showcase their creativity and design custom car wraps for Chevrolet. Chevrolet provided three cars for the designers which in turn the three were able to portray their style and expression in a different way than clothing and accessories.
