Def Jam Announces 30 Year Celebration To Be Held In Brooklyn!

Rick Rubin had a vision for Def Jam Recordings in his New York University dorm-room in 1984. Along with his partner Russel Simmons, Def Jam has brought 30 years of legendary Hip-Hop music from the Bestie Boys and Public Enemy to Kanye West and Frank Ocean.

On October 16th, at Barclay’s Center, Def Jam will present an all-star concert event that will include performances by Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, DMX, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Jhené Aiko, Onyx, Method Man, Redman, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Warren G, EPMD, and Jeremih.

The one-night-only concert, which will encompass all 30 years of Def Jam’s influence on hip-hop music and culture. It’s sure to take fans through the label’s history, from their humble beginnings to what is to come in the future. The show will feature artists who are true masters of ceremony; those who evolved from crowd movers to wordsmith lyricists, and helped transform the face of a culture and give birth to hip-hop’s golden age.
