Famous producer, writer and director, Spike Lee is taking the celebration of 25 years of his movie “Do The Right Thing”, to the next level. Today Lee is meeting with Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams to discuss his free block party to be held this weekend. The party is another dose of his Brooklyn celebration. Just recently, he hosted a pop-up shop in Fort Greene.

On Saturday, June 28th from 12:00pm until 6:00pm, the “Do the Right Thing” inspired block party will honor the movie and celebrate its legacy and impact on Brooklyn history and the American civil rights movement. To capture the essence of the movie, the party will be held on Stuyvesant Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Quincy Avenue in Bed-Stuy, the same neighborhood that served as the backdrop of the film.

Borough President Adams will also present a proclamation to Lee, proclaiming that June 28th to be “Do The Right Thing Day” in Brooklyn.
