While the show was portrayed to be in “Brooklyn Heights”, they actually filmed most of the show in Queens at Kaufman-Astoria Studios. The first “home” for the show was Midwood, Brooklyn, at NBC’s studios at 1268 E. 14th St.

2. The role of Sondra was almost played by then 21 year old Whitney Houston!

3. Phylicia Rashād was pregnant during the Season 3 taping. Her growing baby bump had to be covered by huge props.
