“Before you go out and make another community beautiful – you make yours beautiful,” said Andrea Pitter, CEO and designer at Pantora Bridal. If you ask me, this is something Pitter’s done very well.

It’s not everyday that you’ll find a bridal shop in the middle of Crown Heights, but then again, Brooklyn never ceases to amaze. Gorgeous glass windows showcase eloquent bridal and flower girl gowns that’ll even capture Cupid’s precise eye and as metaphoric as it’s very existence, Pantora Bridal is the dose of love and beauty our local communities need.

Andrea Pitter is a 25 year-old, Crown Heights-bred (by way of Jamaica) designer with an undeniable passion to “make a dream a reality,” and she does so with “bridal gowns without rules.” With an educational background in fashion, it’s safe to say it’s her forte. Graduating from The High School for Fashion Industries and receiving her bachelor’s degree in fashion design with a concentration in sportswear from Fashion Institute of Technology, both solidify this notion, don’t you agree? Ms. Pitter has been receiving and fulfilling orders for her ready-to-wear line, Pantora, since the age of 16. It was then she realized her love for designing special occasion gowns. So it was no consternation when she received her very first bridal gown order from the United Kingdom her freshman year of college.

Pantora Bridal was founded in 2009, with the very first shop opening at 241 Rogers Avenue on October 27th, 2013. Pantora Mini, the flower girl line, opened its shop at 230 Rogers Avenue on July 12th, 2015. As bridal shops in Crown Heights are not the norm, there were many mixed responses to Pantora’s arrival. “Some people thought a hair salon was opening,” Ms. Pitter stated as she swiftly sketched a bridal gown pattern with ease. “Some asked, ‘why open a bridal shop here?’ But I have a ‘lift as we climb’ mentality. Before you go out and make another community beautiful, you make yours beautiful. You start right at home and I’m a neighborhood girl,” she paused from sketching to deliver her best rendition of the Kanye shrug, “obviously.”

Pantora Bridal is no one-woman show, but a youthful, energetic team of power. You may call to schedule an appointment with Kristin, communications specialist. Quianna, design assistant, might have put the final touches on your flower girl gowns after Mariana, the on-sight seamstress, sewed all the pieces together. Never deny the force of behind the scenes power players like Tamekia – financial advisor, Edgina – public relations and Peter – project manager. Everyone onboard are the fibers in the thread that stitch Pantora Bridal together, and trust me, the seam won’t rip.

Who knew that hosting fashion shows at your neighborhood block party, would blossom into glamorous spreads in both national and international bridal magazines, digital style features, red carpet events, and reality TV wedding specials? Who knew it would lead to speaking engagements for schools and women’s empowerment groups? Who knew?

Offering love and joy, while making dreams a reality – Pantora Bridal.
