Jasmyn Destine
Jasmyn Destine is a Brooklyn based YouTube content creator. She explained to us that as a college film student, she is always on the go. That only means, it’s important for her to pack a few daily face products to keep her face looking fresh, laid, and picture perfect. Jasmyn shared some of her favorite make up products, and why she finds them useful. Check them below:
- LA Girl Pro Concealer $2.99 “They have a great variety of shades from fair skin tones to us WOC which is great because you don’t find that in every drugstore brand.”
- Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder $38 ” I love this product because it’s so easy to use for a quick clean up when your makeup might need it through out the day such as, cleaning up your contour, brightening your under eye concealer, and blotting your T-zone area to control oil!”
- Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash $6.99 “We all know having clean skin under your makeup is a must when wanting a flawless face, and this face wash has never failed! Cleaning out your pores as well as preventing future acne it is a great drugstore product!”
- MakeupForever Ultra HD Foundation $43.00 “I absolutely support this brand and there products because of how many shades they provide for WOC, it’s very hard to find a brand that produces products for ALL skin tones! This foundation formula is light and appears as natural skin, yet still can be full coverage because it’s very build-able.”
- The Balm Cosmetics Mary Lou-Manizer Highlighter $24 “If you want to GLOW then you need this highlighter, it is a soft pearlized pink highlighter that goes great on any skin tone! Don’t forget to spray your brush with some setting spray or water to really pick up that product and glow on the skin! “

Lovely Bastien
Lovely Bastien is another make up artist gave us an inside peek of a few of her favorite cosmetic items as well as her secret behind achieving a picture perfect look.
Here’s what she had to say: “As a makeup artist, I like to try many different brands and products to find the ones that will look the greatest on my skin. Every great makeup application begins with a very well prepped skin.”
Every great makeup application must start with a very well prepped skin. Click To Tweet“Primer all depends on the specific look I’m going for If I want more of a matte look I love the Makeup Forever Step 1 mattifying skin equalizer primer which retail for $37 at Sephora. On a regular day I love the Tarte timeless smoothing primer $39 at Sephora.
For the perfect brow, I love to use the dip brow from Anastasia Beverly Hills $18 Sephora or Macy’s.
Moving on to foundation. I’m very picky because I feel like foundation is a major key to flawless skin, and with the wrong foundation type or shade u can go all the way wrong. One of my favorite foundation is the Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation retail for $62 at Sephora, for a more affordable flawless great coverage foundation I like the L’oreal infallible foundation retail for $13 at any drugstore.
Highlighting and contouring is a great way to bring back colors and create dimension. To highlight I love the Nars radiant creamy concealer $29- Sephora a cheaper alternative is the L.A girl pro concealer $3-5 online or at most beauty supply store. To set all that cream as we now call it “BAKING”, my favorite is the Laura Mercier translucent powder $38 Sephora. Contouring can be very tricky, we use contour to create the illusion of shadows to slim out the face, nose, forehead etc. I love to contour using the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit Can be found on the Anastasia website or Sephora and Macy’s for $40.
For that gorgeous glow I typically use the Laura Geller gilded honey highlight- $29 on Laura Geller website I like to top it off with the Anastasia Beverly Hills illuminator in “So Hollywood” $28 Macy’s.
To achieve that nice flush of color one of my favorite blushes is “Peaches” from MAC $22. As for mascara and lashes my favorite mascara at the moment is the Tarte light, camera, lashes mascara retail for $21 at Sephora.
For that final touch, that makes such a big impact on the face, I love to go for the Lilly lash in style “Miami” $30 or the house of lashes Iconic. $12 houseoflashes.com
There are many different eyeshadow brands that I love such as Mac, Anastasia Beverly Hills, urban decay and colourpop cosmetics. Prices vary.
For the lips my perfect nude at the moment is from Mac “peach stock” $17. There is a big trend for liquid lipstick my favorite ones are from Anastasia Beverly Hills $20 and Kylielips $30.”
Well, Brooklynites we hope you found this useful for your daily face slay. Remember the key to a flawless face is first your skin and secondly the product.
