Teddy’s Bar and Grill, located in the trendy neighborhood of Williamsburg undergoes new management after a firm 28 years of a solid foundation. The bar’s current owners, Felice and Glen Kirby and business partner Lee Ornati are saying good-bye to the establishment after running it for so long.

Williamsburg Bar Undergoes New Management After 28 Years

Felice Kirby has been a part of the business since 1979 when the original owner Teddy Prusik sold it to her. The Kirby’s and Ornati overcame the a business drought due to heighten racial tension that the community had experienced back in the 1980s. Felice, just like Mr. Prusik, has a vision to keep the local hangout, up and running for another 128 years.

In speaking with The Gothamist, Felice explained why finding new, younger owners was the best way to go to maintain the successful establishment. “Building roots was valuable. We wanted to work with the younger people who value what’s good about Teddy’s but have their own ideas”.  Although she declined to say who the new owners are, she reassured frequent customers that the antique look of the bar will not change.
