It’s been a long time since Brooklyn has been just a borough in New York City, it has, for some time now, become an international brand.

Proud Brooklynite (before the hype) and talented film-maker, Spike Lee, along with his Dumbo-based ad agency, Spike DDB, and Brooklyn Made, worked together on a 10-minute short film that describes the rise of the Brooklyn culture and brand. Brooklyn Made, also the title of the film, is an effort by the borough’s Chamber of Commerce to certify goods produced with-in the borough.

The docu-film includes commentary for some of the borough’s biggest game changers and small business owners including Ahmad Samhan, co-owner of Zaytoon’s restaurant, Paul Perez, co-owner of Brooklyn Eats, owners of Kinfolk to Spike Lee himself and more. The video details a Brooklynite’s perspective of why people love the borough and are quickly moving here as to any other location in the city.
