Brooklyn Nets forward, Mirza Teletovic has provided an update on his condition in an interview with Al Jazerra, after being diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs.

Latest Update On Brooklyn Nets Forward Mirza Teletovic

As you may recall, Mirza Teletovic played his last game of the season back in January, when he exited a Los Angeles Clippers game with shortness of breath. Under the instruction of Nets athletic trainer, Tim Walsh, Mirza went to the hospital and found that he had blood clots in his lungs. He was treated in Los Angeles for about a week and has flown back to New York to be with his family and rehab. Since that time Mirza has rejoined the team on the bench as support and is working his way back to play next season.

Mirza, who isn’t fond of domestic media, spoke to Al Jazerra about his condition and his comments were translated. According to the translated comments, Teletovic stated, “There has been a lot of exaggeration about all this. Already after three weeks I’ve started to work out on some 70 percent of capacity. I had lung CT screening and they’ve found out my lungs are clean. Practically, all those blood clots vanished in four weeks. Now I’m in process of mandatory taking pills. This process lasts for 6 months, maybe three if everything goes OK. I got great support from his colleagues from the Brooklyn Nets, from Spain, from colleagues in Belgium, where I played, and of the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Mirza is one of three NBA players this year to be diagnosed with blood clots in the lungs.  Anderson Verajo of the Cleveland Cavaliers was the first and Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat is the latest. Mirza Teletovic is in his final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Brooklyn holds his bird rights so any offer he may receive this summer by other teams can be matched by the Nets. Keep in mind though that since the medication must last 6 months, Mirza wont be cleared until sometime in August. In the meantime, Mirza will continue to work out, support his team, and spend quality time with his family.
